9,000 euros for social institutions

  • Mipa News

Great commitment with a big impact: The Christmas raffle organised by Mipa trainees once again raised an impressive amount of money this year. Supported by donations from staff and an additional contribution from MIPA SE, a total of € 9,000 was raised. The amount was divided equally between three social institutions in Lower Bavaria.

One of the donations went to the Ambulante Kinderhospiz, Zentrum Niederbayern based in Landshut. Opened in 2019, the centre supports families with unborn babies, newborns, children, adolescents, young adults and parents of minor children who are seriously or terminally ill – right from the moment of diagnosis. The services offered include a family-accompanying children's hospice service, social medical aftercare, counselling for relatives, short-term psychotherapeutic intervention and 24/7 availability in exceptional situations. The location in Landshut has closed an important gap in care provision in rural areas and significantly improved the care situation for families throughout Lower Bavaria.

A further € 3,000 was donated to Landshuter Tafel, a charitable initiative under the umbrella of the Diakonisches Werk Landshut of the Protestant Church. The Tafel supports people in need in the district with food and everyday necessities. While strategy, administration and financial management are handled by Diakonie Landshut, operations are organised independently by volunteers. The work includes, in particular, the procurement of goods, the coordination of drivers, vehicle management and the distribution of goods to several distribution points in the district – including two in Landshut and others in Vilsbiburg and Rottenburg.

The third donation went to the spezialisierte ambulante Palliativversorgung (SAPV) for children and young people in Lower Bavaria. This service is aimed at young patients with life-shortening or serious illnesses who require particularly intensive medical and nursing care. The aim of SAPV is to improve the quality of life of children and young people and enable them to receive care in the familiar surroundings of their own homes. A professional team works closely with attending physicians, nursing staff and other support services, providing advice and support to families.

At the official donation handover in Essenbach, Mipa CFO Robert Jungwirth and several trainees had the opportunity to personally present the donations to representatives of the organisations. This gave them a first-hand insight into the valuable work carried out by the institutions and how the donations will be used.
