MIPA Presents the Future of Digital Colour Mixing at Automechanika

  • Mipa News

For more than three decades, MIPA SE has been showcasing its latest innovations for professional refinish workshops at Automechanika Frankfurt. In 2026, the company's exhibition will once again focus on technologies designed to make everyday workshop processes more efficient, safer and more economical.

Connected Colour Matching

At the heart of this year's presentation is Smart Mixing, MIPA's future-oriented concept that combines modern colour measurement, intelligent software, artificial intelligence and automated mixing technology into one seamless digital workflow. The aim is to simplify processes, save time and ensure maximum colour accuracy with consistently reproducible results.

A key highlight is MIPA's software solution for location-independent colour measurement, colour evaluation, formula selection and colour mixing. Colour measurements can be taken directly on the vehicle, while the measurement data is transferred via the cloud to a mobile device or workstation. Formula selection and colour mixing can then be carried out independently of the measurement location, providing greater flexibility, efficiency and improved workflow organisation in modern body shops.

Smart Mixing Connects People, Software and Machines

Alongside its latest software developments, MIPA will present its complete Smart Mixing concept, including fully and semi-automatic mixing systems. The fully automatic Mipa Abtönautomaten CR 4 and CR 6 use volumetric dosing technology and enable high-precision mixing even with quantities as small as 0.01 g. The Mipa Sunrace offers a semi-automatic alternative, providing precise dispensing directly from the original Mipa WBC mixing toner bottles without decanting and with intuitive visual operator guidance.

Together with intelligent colour measurement and innovative software, these systems create a fully digitalised mixing process that combines precision, efficiency and maximum process reliability.

Precise Colour Matching for Industrial Coatings

MIPA will also showcase innovative digital colour matching solutions for industrial coating applications. In combination with the Pro Mix® Industry and Pro Mix® Aqua mixing systems, the X-Rite MA 5C colour measurement device – already well established in automotive refinish workshops – delivers precise colour measurement for industrial applications. Combined with intelligent formula software, its advanced multi-angle technology enables fast and reliable colour matching, even in demanding industrial environments.

Visitors will also discover the creative possibilities offered by modern special effect colours. The focus will be on the new Pro Mix® Powder Pigments Decorative Metal, which allow surfaces with the appearance and feel of real metal to be created. The powdered pigments can be used in combination with Pro Mix® Industry bases to create sprayable coatings containing real metals such as zinc, brass, bronze, copper, iron or graphite, resulting in exceptional design surfaces with the authentic appearance and feel of real metal.

Saving Energy, Working Safely

MIPA will also present further solutions for economical and sustainable coating processes. The focus will be on energy-saving systems as well as products that ensure a high level of application reliability, even at elevated temperatures, meeting the evolving requirements of modern paint shops.

The exhibition will be rounded off by the complete MP Non-Paints product range. From abrasives, polishing and masking products to cleaning solutions and personal protective equipment, MIPA offers professional accessories for every stage of the refinishing process.

At Automechanika 2026, MIPA once again underlines its commitment to integrating innovative technologies into everyday workshop operations while combining digital solutions with maximum process reliability. Visitors are warmly invited to experience the latest developments live from 8th to 12th September 2026 at the Mipa stand F.02–F.04, Hall 11.1.
