New customer: Easter bunny

  • Mipa News

What many people associate with the traditional dyeing of Easter eggs at home is, in industrial reality, a highly automated, specialised process with high quality standards. In Germany alone, several hundred million coloured eggs are sold every year. Even though the peak season is around Easter, the colouring of eggs is now a year-round business.

Specially developed coatings are needed to ensure that these products are both visually appealing and meet the high food safety requirements. MIPA offers a wide range of eggshell coatings for this area, which are based on natural shellac and are available in both water-based and conventional alcohol-based qualities.

Depending on the production process, the paints can be applied either by spraying or rolling. Mipa customers rely on modern, automated spraying systems to coat up to 20,000 eggs per hour. The lacquer is applied in several layers to the previously boiled eggs - often while they are still hot - in order to achieve a particularly even and glossy surface.

MIPA SE now supplies numerous customers in the eggshell coatings sector in Germany and abroad, offering them customised solutions for efficient, high-quality production.
